THE HOUSE
This beautiful two-story Tennessee house, with its charming vintage style, originally built by General Custer—every creaky floorboard whispers secrets from the Civil War era. The porch has seen more frontiersmen than a Wild West saloon, and the roof is so gabled it could double as a cavalry fort. If you squint, you might even spot some settlers hiding in the attic, still keeping an eye out for Buffalo Bill.
Welcome to the beginning of the Ocoee River
The Ocoee River begins in the Appalachian Mountains of southeastern Tennessee. When the river crosses into Tennessee it changes its name from the Taccoa to the Ocoee. It is formed by the confluence of its North and Middle forks near Ducktown. The North Fork is fed by the clear waters of the Ocoee Whitewater Center, which hosted the 1996 Olympic whitewater events. The river then flows westward and eventually empties into the Hiwassee River in Polk County.
